STEEL HEAD & CAP:
Accurately machined to pro-
vide concentricity and pre-
cise alignment of piston rod
and cylinder bore.
13)
TUBE:
The cylinder tube is heavy
wall steel tubing honed to
assure low friction, long seal
and piston life. Tube end OD
is machined concentric to ID
and the tube ends are OD lo-
cated and confined by preci-
sion machined grooves in
the head and cap to provide
maximum unit strength and
concentricity.
17)
TIE RODS & NUTS:
Made from high strength
steel, the rods are pre-
stressed at assembly with
high tensile, grade 8 nuts.
16)
CAP END CUSHION:
The cushion is integral to the
piston rod. Taper design al-
lows close tolerance, re-
duced shock load, and
extended deceleration curve
with minimum wear. Float-
ing cushion insert virtually
eliminates wear.
11)
HEAD CUSHION:
Floating head end cushions
are machined to tight toler-
ance with a special profile
which reduces shock load,
and provides a more even
deceleration curve.
14)
PISTON SEALS /
WEAR BAND:
Standard is our high quality
bidirectional uniseal which
provides superior wear re-
sistance and sealing. The
design makes rolling due to
pressure spikes virtually im-
possible. Wear band pro-
vides
superior
wear
resistance and protects pis-
ton and tube in high side
load applications. Other
sealing arrangements are
available.
15)
PISTON:
The piston is precision ma-
chined from high grade cast
iron. design provides the ca-
pability to utilize a wide vari-
ety of piston seal styles and
materials.
